Injury Assessment
Whether you are struggling with an acute sports injury or longer term symptoms such as low back pain or osteoarthritis, an initial assessment appointment would be the most appropriate first point of contact.
We will carry out a thorough investigation of your symptoms and injury history and an assessment of the factors that may be contributing to your pain. This enables informed decision making and the planning of a structured rehabilitation and treatment plan to optimise your recovery, get you back to your training or hobbies, and address the risk factors to reduce the likelihood of symptoms returning in the future.
Your assessment appointment will last 1 hour and costs £60.
Follow up sessions will be either 1 hour (£60) or 30 mins (£40) as appropriate.
Bike Fitting
Retul Bike Fit makes riding more enjoyable by making you more efficient while reducing the risk of injury and increasing comfort on the bike, so you can sustain your position for longer and maximise power and efficiency.
Your bike fit includes a physical assessment, and your individual results will be factored in during the fit process. Your bike fit report will outline any advice regarding any off-the-bike conditioning. The Retul system uses 3d motion capture technology to capture every degree of movement, providing the data to support the decision making around your personally optimised position.
A bike fit is for any rider, from those looking for performance gains by optimising their riding position for efficiency and power, to those looking to eliminate their riding position as a contributory factor to injury. A bike fit before a new bike purchase will help to select the most appropriate bike and minimise any adjustments required to optimise your position.

Runners MOT (Incl Gait Analysis)
Gait analysis and the runners MOT is useful for anyone: from new runners looking for a comprehensive assessment tool to better condition themselves for the demands of running to frequently injured runners looking for better understanding of the factors involved in running related injury.
We will complete a thorough investigation of your training and injury history and establish your future goals.
We will then carry out a comprehensive biomechanical analysis using OnForm 2d video analysis and RunScribe wearable technology that captures data on ground reaction forces, running efficiency and symmetry from every foot strike on a treadmill or out on the road/trail. We will also carry out a series of run specific strength tests and an assessment of your ability to control the forces applied to the body during running.
You will receive a comprehensive report including a bespoke plan based on your personal running analysis data. This will help you to optimise your running training, build resilience/robustness and monitor recovery to reduce injury risk. Overall we can help you to work more effectively and consistently towards your personal running goals.

Utilising advanced techniques for running gait analysis and specialist knowledge of the mechanical and physiological demands of running, we tailor strategies to improve efficiency and prevent injuries.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is useful for athletes of all levels and non-athletes alike. Using a variety of soft tissue techniques from deep tissue release to trigger pointing, it can aid recovery from training, help to restore range of movement to stiff joints, reduce stress and improve muscle tone.
The session lasts either 30 mins (£35) or 1 hour (£55).
1-2-1 Coaching
Our 1-2-1 coaching is a comprehensive service. It includes an initial thorough physical assessment of strength, neuromuscular control and mobility as well as a deep dive into your training and injury history.
We discuss your goals and advise on strategies to optimise training to achieve consistency and reduce injury risk. Your training plan will be delivered fortnightly via the Final Surge coaching platform including a strength and conditioning plan. We will continually monitor your response to training using a variety of measures such as Heart Rate Variability and your training will be modified in response to changes in your recovery status.
We will advise on recovery strategies, periodisation, fuelling and race strategy where appropriate. You will have unlimited contact via calls, email and/or messaging via the Final Surge coaching platform.
